Just Give Them What They Want You Jerk!!

How would your business be if during prospecting you give your prospect what they want?!?! Crazy concept I know.

Business is very similar to politics…just give people what they want!! LOL.

give what they wantSeriously though, the easiest way to make money in business is to just give people what they want, which is a solution to their problem. So stop pitching to them. Just learn how to offer people what they want and they WILL buy it from you.

Ever hear that people hate to be sold, but love to buy?? It’s true, just think about yourself. This simple formula has been around since man learned to talk coherently and it ALWAYS works because if you give people what they want, then they will be more likely to come back to you for more since they have already built a trusting relationship with you (assuming you have a good product and not ripping them off).

If you’ve done your job properly in showing your prospect that you can give them what they want, then you don’t have to sell anything to people because they should have already sold themselves. You are just in the way of the getting what they want. As long as the price is right, you’re guaranteed to make money.

Let me tell you a little story to illustrate exactly how to give your buyer what they want.

give what they wantI went to my first Tampa Bay Buccaneers game and it was an AWESOME experience. It was a hot, summer day in Tampa, Florida, but the beer was nice and cold. The view from the 50 yard line was great, and most importantly…WE WON!! So all in all it was a great day.

I noticed a few things on this adventure that apply to what we’re talking about. First, with the Bucs just having won the Super Bowl the year before, I noticed there was certainly a great deal of energy in the air. Everyone was excited to be there. Second, I noticed that there was a crap load of booths selling Bucs paraphernalia at every corner. The booths were ready and waiting to give the fans exactly what they wanted.

At EVERY booth I saw fans cheering on the Super Bowl champs and rooting for their team by buying Bucs paraphernalia. It didn’t mater if the booth was just a table with some hats on it or if the booth was an elaborate setup with everything from jerseys to Christmas ornaments – ALL the booths had fans buying something from them.

Why didn’t it matter what the sales format was? Because the fans knew what they wanted and when they saw it, they bought it. It’s that simple.

So what did we learn here?

As long as you can find an audience that is hungry for what you have, you can’t fail to make money. Know who you’re marketing to well enough to know what they want. Then just give them what they want!
